Kate graduated from the University of York in 1993 and, after a short spell working for the Snowdonia National Park, joined the Gwynedd Archaeological Trust as Sites and Monuments Record Officer in 1994.
Over the last eight years, her main responsibility has been the maintenance and enhancement of the SMR and the provision of information to a wide variety of audiences, from commercial developers and consultants to researchers, students and school children. She has also been involved with:
Outreach and education; Portable Antiquities Voluntary Recording Scheme; Agri-environment schemes; Upland Survey; The development of a research agenda for Welsh archaeology
Kate currently chairs the Institute of Field Archaeologists' Welsh committee and is a local representative of the Trade Union Prospect. She is also co-founder of the Gwynedd and Môn branch of the Young Archaeologists Club.
Kate's main interests are the archaeology of upland landscapes, especially those of north west Wales, and making archaeology accessible to as wide an audience as possible.
