The central authority for antiquities administration is the National Board of Antiquities, which is attached to the Ministry of Education and responsible for the protection of ancient monuments on the national level. The Department of Archaeology answers for the investigation, protection and care of ancient monuments, the care of the national archaeological collections and archive, planning of the exhibitions and education of the public. The Untamala project is on the response of the Section for Site Management.
