The most important task of the County Administration Board has been to further the development of the county on the terms of the inhabitants, based on the mission assigned to us by the government and the parliament elected by the people of Sweden. The work affects many spheres and ranges over the whole breadth of society, all the way from permits to take a driving test to major regional issues.
The duties of the County Administration Board include:- achieving nationally established goals
- coordinating different interests in the county
- furthering the development of the county, setting regional goals and ensuring legal security in every case.
The County Administration Board has duties in spheres such as the cultural heritage, regional economy, and business development, planning, stewardship of natural resources, nature conservation and environmental protection.
