Bring History to Life

Bleasdale Circle, a timber circle on the Bleasdale Estate in Bowland, was discovered in 1898 and it is thought to possibly date back to the Neolithic times. Examples of timber circles are known, as are ornate burial mounds covering graves, but the two in combination have not been seen elsewhere.

Lancashire County Council is to install a new interpretation panel at this ancient site. New access improvements made possible through Woodland Grant and Countryside Stewardship Schemes have been developed on surrounding land through support from the former Bowland Initiative, Wyre Countryside Services and LCC Countryside Services.
