PCL at the Main-Spessart-Fair in Lohr/Spessart

Thanks to the initiative of the Town of Lohr on the Main, the EU-funded Project “Pathways to Cultural Landscapes” presented itself in the Main-Spessart-Exhibition from April 27th to May 1st 2002. Besides information on the project, the round about 50 000 visitors were invited to participate in a “Europe Quiz”. Answering three questions correctly entitled participants to enter a draw to win a horse carriage ride through the Spessart.

The “Touching box” filled with objects from various partner projects gave visitors a gripping and sometimes surprising European experience. Paneveggio, Italy, e.g. was represented as a piece cheese.

Discussions on and around the presentation at the five-day exhibition showed how strong the Spessart people's bondage with their landscape is. Their feeling toward both the natural beauty and the exploitation of their region came to light in discussions on the pilot project. In this respect, the strategies of other partner regions found much interest.
