Arrival at the Norre Park Hotel, Halmstad

17.50 short walk from the hotel lobby to the County Administrative Boards office

18.00 Meeting: The European Landscape Convention, Mr. Ebbe Adolfsson, Swedish Environmental Protection Agency

19.30 Informal dinner (buffet) in the Governors early 17th century residence (Halmstad slott)

Saturday, September 14th

8.30-12.30 Meeting: Introduction, Business meeting and GIS workshop (coffee brake 9.30-9.45). Hotel Mårtensson.

12.30-13.30 Lunch. Hotel Mårtensson.

13.30 Departure from Norre Park Hotel with bus to the Halland project area. Visit to the Iron Age cemetery at Påarp at the coast of the Laholm Bay, guided walk (1-1½ h.) in the Halland project area at the Hallandsås ridge incl. a visit in the Lugnaro bronze age mound. Dinner at the Vallåsens värdshus (host: The Community of Laholm). Typical seasonal Swedish food is served.

22.00 Departure to the hotel.

Sunday, September 15th

8.30 Departure from Norre Park Hotel by bus to the Bjäre peninsula. Bus tour through the beautiful cultural landscape of the peninsula incl. a stop at the rock carvings Drottninghall and a visit to the open air museum Boarp with a reconstructed bronze age house. At 12.00 we leave the small picturesque village of Torekov to go by boat to the island of Hallands Väderö. On the return trip from Torekov we will make a short stop at the old 19th century textile works of Slottsmöllan (“the castle mill”) just outside Halmstad.

19.15 Arrival at the hotel.

20.00 Dinner in a Halmstad restaurant (Fridolfs).

Monday, September 16th

9.00-16.30 Meeting at Hotel Mårtensson (partly parallel sessions): discussions about the book and folders etc.; a session with GIS-expert from ArcInfo, UK, parallel with a session discussing the pedagogic/didactic parts of the project (kindergarten projects, information boards, physical pathways etc.). At the end a common discussion about new project ideas (coffee brake 10.30-10.45, lunch 12.30-13.30, coffee brake 15.00-15.15).

19.00 Dinner in a Halmstad restaurant (Klosterköket) (hosts: Regional museum of Halland and the County Administrative Board).
